Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Herbie Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Lindsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hawkins might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to My Sacrifice. Lindsey has chosen Californication - RHCP as his entrance music. Herbie Hawkins could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Daniel Lindsey's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Herbie Hawkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Lindsey! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawkins checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lindsey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hawkins scores with a sloppy right hand. Lindsey should have avoided that one. Lindsey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hawkins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lindsey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hawkins wants to work for an arm triangle but Lindsey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Lindsey is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hawkins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hawkins's back! Hawkins is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hawkins tries to lock up and control but Lindsey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lindsey goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hawkins turns into him and now he's in Lindsey's guard.
Hawkins drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lindsey looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lindsey looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lindsey! Lindsey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hawkins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lindsey tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Lindsey swings around for an armbar but Hawkins sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lindsey's guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lindsey looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That was a close round but I would say that Herbie Hawkins will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hawkins tries to close the distance and clinch but Lindsey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A head kick by Lindsey misses and Hawkins counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Lindsey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lindsey walks into a jab. Lindsey blocks a jab. Hawkins listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Lindsey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hawkins dips to his left and cracks Lindsey with an uppercut! Hawkins fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lindsey tries a head kick but it misses.
Hawkins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lindsey circles away quickly and effectively. Lindsey pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Lindsey throws a head kick that misses and Hawkins counters with a straight right hand. Hawkins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lindsey but Lindsey pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herbie Hawkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hawkins wants to clinch but Lindsey slips to the side so Lindsey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Lindsey tries to free his leg and advance position but Hawkins is retaining full guard. Hawkins wants to stand and escape but Lindsey is having none of it. Lindsey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hawkins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hawkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lindsey postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hawkins is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lindsey, into his guard. Hawkins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lindsey is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lindsey wants to pass the guard but Hawkins is keeping the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lindsey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hawkins is working an open guard so Lindsey takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
