Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Grande (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Fredrickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grande comes to the cage accompanied by I Drove All Night. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacques Grande! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Fredrickson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grande shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fredrickson pinned against the cage. Fredrickson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Fredrickson shoots in and drives through. Grande sprawls well. Grande bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Grande remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Grande's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Fredrickson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grande. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Grande passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Fredrickson! Fredrickson reaches up to try and control the position but Grande seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Fredrickson rolls and tries to escape and now Grande has his back!

That's one minute gone in the round. Grande has good solid back control here. Grande punches the canvas rather than the man. Grande patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Grande controlling well, preventing Fredrickson from escaping the position.
Fredrickson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Fredrickson prevents Grande from getting a body triangle. Fredrickson is really stuck here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Grande connects with a big shot to the side of Fredrickson's head.

Fredrickson defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Grande's arms. Grande is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Fredrickson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Fredrickson for a finish. Grande is breathing heavily. Grande has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Fredrickson.

Grande missing with punches from the back. Fredrickson is taking damage to the body and head. Grande wants to control but Fredrickson is keeping busy. Fredrickson tries to escape but Grande has the hooks in and won't let him break free. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fredrickson looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacques Grande has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Fredrickson. Fredrickson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Grande circles away quickly and effectively. Fredrickson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grande sprawls well. Grande wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fredrickson gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Fredrickson slaps away a takedown attempt from Grande, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jacques Grande is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Grande checks a low kick from Fredrickson. Grande tries to clinch but Fredrickson moves away and Fredrickson counters with a three punch combo that has Grande backing up. Grande nods at Fredrickson to acknowledge the strikes. Grande fails to land with a series of punches.
Grande shoots in for a takedown but Fredrickson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Fredrickson throws a head kick that misses. Grande just stands there and leans against the cage. Fredrickson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Grande fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Grande shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fredrickson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grande stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fredrickson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Grande won't allow Fredrickson to sweep him here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fredrickson can do anything to dispel that myth. Fredrickson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Grande wants to control from the top but Fredrickson keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jacques Grande will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Fredrickson scores with a one two! Grande had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Fredrickson moves in looking to clinch but Grande pushes him off. Grande thows a body kick. Fredrickson tries to catch it but that hurt him. Fredrickson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Grande counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Grande as Fredrickson tries to tie him up. Grande drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Grande lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fredrickson! Fredrickson tries to hold on but Grande pushes him away. Grande tries to push Fredrickson's head away but Fredrickson is holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Fredrickson is looking to improve his position but Grande isn't that keen on the idea. Grande is in the full mount, landing strikes. Grande trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grande prevents Fredrickson from getting the reversal. Grande jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Fredrickson manages to avoid the submission attempt.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Fredrickson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Grande decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fredrickson's guard. Grande trying to control but Fredrickson is working from the bottom. Fredrickson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grande scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Fredrickson has control of Grande's left arm, preventing Grande from doing any damage. Grande trying to control the position from guard on top but Fredrickson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fredrickson pulls Grande in close to his closed guard and prevents Grande from doing any damage or advancing position. Fredrickson is trying to keep Grande in close.
And that's the end of the fight! Jacques Grande showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Grande, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
