Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Bickle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Carlson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Bickle!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carlson drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bickle working for submissions but it's allowed Carlson to get to half guard.
Bickle tries to roll over but Carlson keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carlson seems to be looking for submissions.

Carlson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bickle is just riding it out for now. Carlson eventually gives up the hold.

Carlson is looking to take a break and control but Bickle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Bickle shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Carlson manages to get to full guard.
Bickle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bickle wants to pass the guard but Carlson is keeping the position.

Bickle postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carlson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bickle, into his guard.

Carlson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Bickle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

It looks like Carl Carlson has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bickle is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Carlson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Carlson for a finish.

Carlson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Bickle knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Bickle for a finish.

Carlson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Bickle has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Bickle has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Carlson.
Carlson doesn't have the hooks in and Bickle manages to turn into his guard.
Bickle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Carlson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bickle is one step ahead there.

Bickle postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carlson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bickle, into his guard.

Bickle is trying to hold Carlson in close to prevent damage but Carlson has managed to pass into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carlson wants to pass to mount but Bickle is defending the position.

Carlson is looking for a kimura but Bickle is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Carlson to get the leverage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carlson connects with a nice short shot to Bickle's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Carl Carlson will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Carlson has his takedown stuffed

and Bickle counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carlson won't be happy with that.

Bickle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bickle thows a huge punch but Carlson dodges it nicely.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Carlson won't allow Bickle to pass to mount.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Carlson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carlson lands in his opponent's guard.

Bickle throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Carlson escapes and throws Bickle's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Carlson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bickle sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Bickle tries to buck Carlson off but Carlson is having none of it.
Bickle is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Bickle takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

and Bickle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Carlson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
