Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Hung! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Fifo Ortiz! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hung takes a swing at Ortiz's ribcage but misses. Hung misses with a hook. A swing and a miss from Hung. A punch combination from Hung misses. Ortiz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Ortiz missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Hung is trying to get back to full guard. Hung gets full guard. Ortiz preventing the sweep. Hung wants to stand up but Ortiz is controlling him. Hung is trying to control the position but Ortiz postures up. Ortiz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hung preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ortiz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hung as he jumps to the side. Ortiz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hung tries to avoid it but Ortiz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hung to the ground. Hung escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hung misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ortiz.
Sam Hung is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ortiz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Ortiz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hung looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ortiz tries to move to mount but Hung blocks the move with his legs. Hung tries to improve position but can't. Ortiz misses with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ortiz tries to score with some ground and pound. Hung controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Hung is looking to regain half guard here but Ortiz keeps moving and retains side control. Ortiz tries to move to mount but Hung blocks the move with his legs. Hung tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ortiz takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Hung throws a hook to the side of Ortiz's head but Ortiz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A telegraphed right hand from Hung misses the target. Ortiz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Ortiz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hung makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hung. Hung looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ortiz is one step ahead there. Hung manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ortiz manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hung in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hung thows a big elbow that misses. Hung loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ortiz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ortiz can do anything to dispel that myth. Ortiz working a defensive guard here.

A big right from Hung misses. Ortiz closes the distance and clinches up with Hung, looking for a takedown. Ortiz pushes Hung against the cage but Hung circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hung looks to land a left hand but Ortiz moved out of range nicely. Ortiz shoots in and bounces Hung off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Ortiz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ortiz landing with the ground and pound. Ortiz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Ortiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hung prevents Ortiz from improving his position. Hung is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hung wants to control but Ortiz postures up. Hung regains half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ortiz scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ortiz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hung is trying to get back to full guard. Ortiz wants to free his trapped foot but Hung is holding on for dear life with his legs. Hung manages to get to full guard.

Hung throws and elbow that misses. Ortiz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hung's guard. Nice move by Ortiz! Ortiz is in close to Hung's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hung keeping full guard, as Ortiz tries to pass. Hung manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

And that's the end of the fight! Sam Hung showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hung has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
