Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Akamoah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akamoah's entrance music is Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop. A fine choice. Kerr has chosen Smash Your enemies - Hatebreed as his entrance music. Akamoah has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Matt Kerr has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gabriel Akamoah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerr takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Akamoah slips a jab and a cross from Kerr.
Good work by Akamoah as he checks the leg kick.
Kerr moves in looking to clinch but Akamoah pushes him off.
Kerr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Akamoah looks to land a right hand but Kerr moved out of range.
Akamoah is breathing heavily.
Akamoah slips a jab from Kerr.
Kerr lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kerr throws a looping overhand right but Akamoah ducks down to avoid it.

Akamoah really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kerr closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kerr gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Akamoah regains guard.

Kerr drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kerr jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kerr is looking to work some ground and pound but Akamoah has wrist control.

Matt Kerr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kerr thows a huge punch but Akamoah dodges it nicely.

Kerr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Akamoah keeps working.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kerr throws the left hand but Akamoah avoids the punch easily.

Kerr is trying hard to land a takedown here. Akamoah sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Akamoah is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Kerr scores with a takedown into Akamoah's guard.
Kerr throws and elbow that misses. Akamoah uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kerr's guard. Nice move by Akamoah!
Akamoah will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kerr doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kerr is looking to stand up but Akamoah isn't so interested in that idea.

Kerr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Akamoah gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kerr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kerr is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
