PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Uki Goshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Perales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perales has chosen Awake as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Perales!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goshi shoots for a double leg takedown but Perales sprawls well. He's pushed Goshi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Perales dodges the punch combination from Goshi.

Goshi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Perales, pushing him back against the cage.
Goshi can't get the takedown.
Goshi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Perales wants to break free but Goshi has control.
Goshi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Perales is looking to stand up but Goshi isn't so interested in that idea.

Goshi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Perales paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Goshi takes the fight into the clinch.
Goshi is breathing heavily.
Goshi jumps guard but Perales stands there with Goshi around his waist. Goshi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Goshi pulls Perales into guard.
Goshi has a closed guard, preventing Perales from standing up.

Goshi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Perales gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Goshi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Perales wanted to stand there but Goshi had control of the position.
Goshi lands a decent punch to the body there.

Goshi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Goshi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Perales's guard.

Goshi decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Perales, up you get!

Goshi is trying to trip Perales. He has hold of a leg but Perales is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Goshi persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Goshi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Goshi decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Goshi is on top in guard.

Goshi is looking to control Perales's arms but Perales gets an underhook and turns him. Now Goshi has his back to the cage.

Oh Goshi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Perales tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Perales throws a right and a left that Goshi avoids nicely.

Perales misses with a few strikes there.
Goshi seems to have got his legs back now.
Goshi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Perales pushes Goshi off and gets back to his feet.
Goshi tries a head kick but it misses.
Goshi shoots in but no luck this time.

Kevin Perales is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Goshi lands with a kick to the temple. Perales shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Perales steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Goshi. That one must have hurt.

Perales wants to stand up but Goshi is controlling him.

Goshi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Perales is looking to stand up but Goshi isn't so interested in that idea.
