Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luth Golein! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johan Erikson! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Erikson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Erikson shoots for a double leg takedown but Golein sprawls well. He's pushed Erikson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Erikson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Golein avoids it really well and circles away. Luth Golein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johan Erikson. Golein stuffs the takedown. Golein is trying hard to land a takedown here. Erikson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Erikson drives through with a takedown into guard. Erikson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Golein is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Erikson, into his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Golein got a little sloppy there for a moment and Erikson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Golein has managed to get both his arms back between Erikson's legs - danger averted. Golein is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Erikson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Golein drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Golein seems to have locked his on tight now - Erikson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Golein, as he picks up the win!
