Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Math Lafer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Kusco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kusco is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Not Afraid. Jake Kusco will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Math Lafer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Kusco! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kusco connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Lafer lands a body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lafer. Kusco does a little dance to reset his feet. Kusco throws a right and a left that Lafer avoids nicely. Nice defenses there by Lafer. Lafer throws a series of punches but Kusco avoids them all with ease. Kusco lands a really nice looking cross but Lafer seems unphased.
A jab lands there for Kusco.
Lafer is rocked! Kusco lands a right hook to the body.
Oh Lafer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kusco throws a series of punches but Lafer avoids them all with ease. Lafer seems to have got his legs back now. Lafer fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kusco checks it well. Lafer shoots for a double leg takedown but Kusco sprawls well. He's pushed Lafer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Lafer lands a nice hook to Kusco's body. Kusco takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lafer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Lafer misses with a hook. Kusco ducked under it nicely. Lafer steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kusco. Kusco just misses with a punch to the body.
The fighters circling - Lafer throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kusco throws a jab when Lafer was well out of range. Kusco lands with a nice combination. Lafer backs away looking to recover. Kusco tries to bum rush Lafer with a series of wild strikes but Lafer uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kusco throws a series of punches but Lafer moves out of range. Kusco scores with a shot to the body.
Lafer thows a body shot but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kusco looks to score with a jab to the body but Lafer is just out of range. Kusco slips a jab from Lafer. Kusco throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kusco takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Kusco takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Lafer blocks a head kick by Kusco.

and Lafer counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kusco! Kusco tries to lock up and control but Lafer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lafer is landing with some decent strikes but Kusco is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Kusco takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lafer lands a heavy elbow. Lafer working the ground and pound effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lafer trying to control but Kusco is having none of it. Lafer content just to control the position here. Kusco wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Lafer.
Lafer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Lafer landing punches. Lafer lands a big elbow. Lafer with good strikes from the mount here! Kusco looks gassed! A nice elbow there by Lafer. Lafer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lafer has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kusco's face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kusco tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kusco in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Lafer punishing his opponent with strikes. Lafer punishing his opponent with strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lafer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. A nice elbow there by Lafer. Lafer cracks Kusco with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kusco is bucking up trying to escape but Lafer cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Lafer lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Lafer wants to finish this one by submission but Kusco is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lafer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kusco does a little dance to reset his feet. Kusco wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Kusco looks to land a left hand but Lafer moved out of range nicely. Jake Kusco seems to be getting the better of the standup. Lafer misses with a straight right. Lafer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kusco. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lafer dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Lafer throws a sloppy body shot

That's one minute gone in the round. Lafer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kusco sees it coming and avoids it easily. Lafer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kusco's half guard. Kusco looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lafer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kusco's head. Lafer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Lafer is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kusco! Math Lafer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lafer is in the full mount, landing strikes. Lafer breaks from Kusco's wrist control and lands an elbow. Lafer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kusco manages to avoid the submission attempt. Kusco is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lafer scores with punches from side control. Lafer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kusco keeps working. Lafer lands a few punches from side control. Kusco can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lafer goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Kusco is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lafer is pulling down on Kusco's head to control his posture. Lafer working a defensive guard but Kusco manages to pass into side control anyway.
Lafer can't do much from the bottom here. Kusco stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Lafer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kusco looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lafer landing strikes. Lafer trying to control the position but Kusco is working away. Lafer lands a nice forearm strike. Lafer works to advance to full mount. Kusco defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Kusco is working to get back to half guard.
Kusco regains half guard. Lafer is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lafer working Kusco over with strikes. Kusco is not content to let Lafer control the position. Lafer working Kusco over with strikes. Lafer wants to free his trapped foot but Kusco is holding on for dear life with his legs. Lafer lands with a punch from half guard. Lafer scoring with strikes to the body and head. Lafer has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Lafer working away from the top, dropping strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Math Lafer showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lafer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
