Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Krantz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stoneface McGillicutty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGillicutty comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Let me clear my throat! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zachary Krantz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stoneface McGillicutty! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krantz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. McGillicutty is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McGillicutty looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Krantz puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. McGillicutty trying to control but Krantz postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Krantz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. McGillicutty wants to get back to full guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Krantz in particular looking to stall. Krantz wants to pass to mount but McGillicutty is defending the position. McGillicutty has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Krantz is working away from the top position though. McGillicutty won't allow Krantz to pass to mount.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Krantz feints and as McGillicutty raises his hands in defense, Krantz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Krantz throws a big right hand that misses. McGillicutty wants to get back to his feet but Krantz passes into half guard.
McGillicutty won't allow Krantz to pass to mount. McGillicutty gets full guard. McGillicutty controls Krantz momentarily but Krantz frees himself. Krantz trying to control but McGillicutty is working from the bottom. Krantz prevents McGillicutty from getting back to his feet. McGillicutty wants to get back to his feet but Krantz passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGillicutty wants to control but Krantz is keeping busy and won't allow it. Krantz trying to mount his opponent but McGillicutty defends it. McGillicutty avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Krantz. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Krantz is trying to control the action in half guard but McGillicutty is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Krantz is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McGillicutty. Krantz closes the distance and clinches. McGillicutty wants to get back to striking at distance but Krantz won't allow it.
Krantz wants the takedown. McGillicutty is fighting it off but Krantz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in McGillicutty's guard against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! McGillicutty looking to control.
Krantz distracts McGillicutty with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Krantz is looking to work some ground and pound but McGillicutty has wrist control. Krantz wants to control from the top but McGillicutty keeps moving. Krantz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McGillicutty manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Krantz has McGillicutty in his guard.

Krantz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. McGillicutty throws a strike but Krantz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krantz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. McGillicutty is trying to keep Krantz in close.
Krantz won't allow McGillicutty to sweep him here. McGillicutty is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. That's two minutes gone in the round. Krantz has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for McGillicutty! McGillicutty tries to hold on but Krantz pushes him away. McGillicutty is working to get back to half guard.
Krantz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. McGillicutty wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Krantz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. McGillicutty can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Krantz wants to control the pace but McGillicutty is squirming around nicely.

Krantz is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. McGillicutty defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Krantz is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. McGillicutty knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften McGillicutty for a finish. Zachary Krantz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Krantz looking for the choke from the back.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Krantz has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, McGillicutty has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
