Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Vlay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marco Vlay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Wein! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wein throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Marco Vlay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vlay moves out of range of the body kick from Wein.
Wein avoids a kick to the body.
Vlay takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Wein thows a left - swing and a miss! Wein moves in looking to clinch but Vlay pushes him off. Vlay looks for a takedown but Wein sprawls well. Vlay uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wein. Oooh a lovely combination from Wein sends Vlay down but not out. Wein dives into side control looking to finish.
It looks like Marco Vlay has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Check out the look on Wein's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wein lands some shots froms side control. Vlay avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Wein. Vlay wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wein working the strikes but Vlay uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vlay avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wein. Ground and pound from Wein. Wein missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Wein throwing shots but Vlay is blocking nicely. Vlay is trying to stand back up but Wein is controlling him
Vlay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Wein scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Vlay keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wein connects with a nice short shot to Vlay's temple. Vlay actively working from the bottom here. Wein thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vlay's head. Wein missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wein not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Vlay works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wein throwing strikes but missing. Wein won't allow Vlay to get back to his feet. Wein works over Vlay with some ground and pound from guard. Wein in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Vlay utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Vlay controls Wein momentarily but Wein frees himself. Wein chips away with some ground and pound. Vlay looking for a sweep. Not yet Vlay, not yet. Wein postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Vlay is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Wein content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wein is looking to work some ground and pound but Vlay has wrist control. Vlay is looking to stand up but Wein isn't so interested in that idea. Wein throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Wein cracks Vlay with a solid left hand. Vlay utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Vlay is trying to keep Wein in close.
Wein scoring with punches to the head and body. Wein with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Vlay preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Wein lands a couple of elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wein is looking to work some ground and pound but Vlay has wrist control. Vlay wants to get back to his feet but Wein is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Wein throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Wein won't allow Vlay to get back to his feet. Wein postures up in Vlay's guard and throws a big left but Vlay blocks it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wein accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vlay takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Vlay feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wein looks gassed! Vlayis looking to pass into half guard but Wein pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Wein is in guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vlay wants to stand and escape but Wein is having none of it. Wein lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Vlay working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wein. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Wein dominated that round. The cut man is working on Marco Vlay's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Wein tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Vlay fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wein lands a nice looking body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vlay. Wein throws a series of punches but Vlay avoids them all with ease. Wein misses with a two punch combination.
Wein is looking to clinch. Wein dips to his left and cracks Vlay with an uppercut! Wein is looking to slow Vlay down with leg kicks. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wein fails to land with a series of punches.
Vlay shoots in looking for a takedown. Wein tries to sprawl out of it but Vlay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wein manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marco Vlay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wein misses with a series of wild punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wein uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. John Wein is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wein tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vlay was well out of range. Poor timing from Wein. Wein defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vlay. Wein rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vlay moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A head kick misses from Wein. Vlay cracks the inside of Wein's front leg. Vlay shoots in for a takedown but Wein shows good takedown defense. John Wein seems to be getting the better of the standup. Wein stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wein wants it to stay on the feet. Wein throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Vlay keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wein.

Vlay shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wein defends it nicely. Donk. Wein catches Vlay right on the button with a cross. Wein is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Vlay walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wein checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Marco Vlay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Horrible takedown by Vlay or perhaps it was just good defense by Wein which made him look bad. Wein looks to score with a jab to the body but Vlay is just out of range. Wein has Vlay up against the cage in a clinch.
Wein creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Wein will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Vlay up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wein lands a right hand. Vlay is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wein pulls him back up using the underhooks. Vlay is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Vlay changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wein fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wein pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Vlay throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wein's waist but Wein gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vlay off to one side. Wein misses with a looping left. Vlay shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Wein tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vlay was well out of range. Poor timing from Wein. Vlay will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Wein throws a right hand that Vlay ducks under and follows up with a left that Vlay also avoids with ease. Wein throws a leg kick but Vlay sees it coming and checks it nicely. Wein misses with a hook. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vlay. Wein scores with a body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wein listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Wein showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Marco Vlay's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
An inside leg kick from Wein misses. Wein rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vlay moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Vlay throws a nice outside leg kick. Wein leaves Vlay with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Wein misses with a kick to the body and Vlay counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Vlay looks for a takedown but Wein sprawls well. Wein paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Wein just misses with a punch to the body.
Vlay fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marco Vlay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A lazy body kick from Vlay and Wein counters with a straight right hand. Vlay throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Wein counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nice body kick there by Wein.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wein throws a left that rocks Vlay and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Wein dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Vlay regain composure!
Vlay is rocked! Wein has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Vlay pushes Wein away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Wein gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Wein lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Wein scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Vlay to see if he's OK. Wein lands some shots froms side control. Wein landing a few strikes. Wein in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. You can see the frustration on Vlay's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wein scores with a couple of short elbows. Vlay takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Wein tries to move into full mount but can't pass Vlay's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wein throwing shots but missing, from side control. The ground and pound from Wein seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Wein tries to score with some ground and pound. Vlay controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Wein misses with a body shot.
Vlay misses with a takedown and Wein cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Vlay pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Vlay shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wein sprawls well. Wein wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vlay gets slowly back to his feet. Wein throws a nice looking combination but Vlay bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wein checks a leg kick. Vlay attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Wein throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vlay. Wein tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vlay paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vlay shoots in for a double leg but Wein sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Vlay uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wein.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Vlay gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Wein counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Vlay fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Vlay takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vlay has his takedown stuffed and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Wein closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Marco Vlay has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wein lands with a short punch from the clinch.
John Wein is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A nice left hand lands by Wein.
Wein prevents Vlay from breaking the clinch. Wein lands a left hand.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Wein. Wein lands a knee to the head.
Marco Vlay's cut is getting worse. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wein lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Vlay wants a takedown.

Wein lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Vlay or not. Vlay being controlled against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! John Wein comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Wein has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
