PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Da Giant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flagdon Greenwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giant comes to the cage accompanied by Eye of the Tiger. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greenwood lands with a hook. Giant tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Giant looks for a takedown but Greenwood sprawls well.
Giant swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Giant tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Giant.
Danga de danga de dang - Greenwood scores with a four punch combination!
Greenwood avoids a punch combination nicely.
Greenwood looks to land a combination but Giant avoids it well.

Greenwood moves into the clinch successfully.
Giant fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Giant has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Greenwood off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Giant wants to clinch but Greenwood slips to the side
and Greenwood counters with a series of strikes. Giant will be more careful next time no doubt.

It looks like Da Giant has been cut.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Even with his hooks in, Giant manages to miss with strikes from the back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Giant tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Greenwood presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Giant wants to hold on but Greenwood pushes him away.
Greenwood pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Greenwood cracks Giant with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Greenwood avoids the attempt from Giant to control.
Giant is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Greenwood is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee warns Giant that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Giant tries to lock up and control but Greenwood gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Giant keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Giant is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Greenwood is landing with some decent strikes but Giant is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

You get the feeling that Giant really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Greenwood lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Giant wants to hold on but Greenwood pushes him away.
Giant is in a horrible position here. Greenwood smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Greenwood avoids the attempt from Giant to control.
Giant is bucking up trying to escape but Greenwood cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

BOOM! Greenwood connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Greenwood jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Giant is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Giant and Greenwood has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Flagdon Greenwood comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
