Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Tankard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Drazen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Tankard! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Victor Drazen! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Tankard misses. Drazen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Tankard is able to avoid easily. The fighters circling - Drazen throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Tankard avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tankard listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Tankard looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Drazen! Tankard with a couple of short strikes. Drazen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tankard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tankard working Drazen over with strikes here.
It looks like Victor Drazen has been cut. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poor strikes thrown by Tankard there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Tankard raining down shots from the mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tankard lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The cut above Victor Drazen's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drazen tries to get back to half guard but can't. Drazen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Tankard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tankard moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Drazen has worked his arm free - good work by Drazen!
Drazen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Tankard holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Drazen prevents Tankard from improving his position. Drazen wants to take a breather but Tankard is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tankard wants to control but Drazen is keeping busy and won't allow it. Drazen is figuring out what he wants to do next. Tankard is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Drazen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Drazen's back! Tankard has managed to slip his arm under Drazen's chin. This could be all over... yep, Drazen is tapping out! Submission win for Tankard.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Adam Tankard! Adam Tankard retains his heavyweight title!
