Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Corbett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Horton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nathan Corbett could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tim Horton's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Corbett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Horton!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corbett misses with a low kick.
Horton misses with a jab, cross combination.
Corbett throws a quick inside leg kick.

Corbett drives through and clinches with Horton against the cage.
Horton lands a left hand that snaps the head of Corbett backwards.
Horton stalls.
Horton fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Horton avoiding damage.
Corbett trying to stall but Horton improves his position.

Horton breaks the clinch.
Horton scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Corbett fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Corbett moves in looking to clinch but Horton pushes him off.
A big right from Corbett misses.
A thudding body kick lands there by Corbett!
Corbett throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Corbett throws a sloppy head kick and Horton moves out of range easily.
A punch combination from Corbett misses.
Corbett connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Corbett throws a right hand that Horton ducks under and follows up with a left that Horton also avoids with ease.
Corbett takes a swing at Horton's ribcage but misses.
Corbett misses with a looping left.
Horton does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Corbett tries to clinch up but Horton circles away and keeps his distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A chopping leg kick lands by Horton.
Horton throws a series of punches but Corbett moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horton lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Horton.

Corbett looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Corbett wants to take a breather but Horton is having none of it.

Horton wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Corbett is looking to stand up but Horton won't let him.

Corbett postures up in Horton's guard and throws a big left but Horton blocks it.

Horton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Horton scoring well with a low kick there.
Corbett uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Corbett is breathing heavily.
A nice leg kick lands there from Horton.
Corbett takes a swing at Horton's ribcage but misses.
Corbett on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Corbett misses with a takedown attempt - Horton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Corbett takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Horton clinches up with Corbett and pushes him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Corbett misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Horton.
Horton throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Corbetts head.

Horton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Horton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Corbett checks the leg kick.
A lazy body kick from Horton
and Corbett counters with a thumping low kick.
Horton goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Horton misses with a double jab.
Horton scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Horton stuffs the takedown attempt from Corbett. Corbett gets slowly back to his feet.
Horton throws a series of punches but Corbett moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Horton wants to clinch.
Corbett goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Horton fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Corbett is out of range.
Horton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Corbett shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Corbett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Corbett shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Horton but Horton pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Horton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Horton circles away from the clinch attempt.
Horton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Corbett paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Corbett pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Horton takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Nice shot by Corbett.
A combination from Horton does no damage.
Corbett connects with a solid leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Corbett looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Horton throws a right and a left that both miss.
Corbett doesn't manage to clinch there - Horton circles away.

Corbett looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Horton!
Horton tries to lock up and control but Corbett gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Horton is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Horton is squirming around, avoiding Corbett's attempts to control the action.

Horton is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Corbett thowing shots but they're missing.
Horton is still in real trouble! Can Corbett finish him?
Corbett has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Horton's face.

The referee warns Horton that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Corbett working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Horton turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Corbett off and cradles Horton's limp body as Corbett celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Nathan Corbett!
