Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Romario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romario has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Carlos Romario had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Romario! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Bowman! The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bowman swinging wildly here.
Bowman darts in and clinches Romario up against the cage. Romario successfully pulls guard.
Romario throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Bowman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bowman wants to control from the top but Romario keeps moving. Bowman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bowman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Romario has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Romario keeping moving, preventing Bowman from controlling successfully. Bowman wants to get up but he can't break Romario's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bowman slaps away a takedown attempt from Romario, before circling back to the center of the mat. Romario is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romario shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bowman as he avoids it easily. Romario gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bowman to score an easy takedown into full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bowman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Romario looking for a sweep. Not yet Romario, not yet. Bowman chips away with some ground and pound. Bowman advances position into side control! Bowman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Romario down.
Romario takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowman working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Bowman is working to tighten is grip on Romario's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Romario has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bowman is really squeezing tight and eventually Romario passes out! Bowman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Mike Bowman!
