Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh McRoberts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Marciano! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marciano throws a right and a left that McRoberts avoids nicely. Marciano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. McRoberts circles away from the clinch attempt.
Marciano lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Josh McRoberts has been cut. Marciano scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McRoberts feints and as Marciano raises his hands in defense, McRoberts changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. McRoberts trying to control but Marciano is working from the bottom. McRoberts thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. McRoberts's corner is telling him to maintain position. Marciano is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Marciano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McRoberts. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McRoberts trying to control the position from guard on top but Marciano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McRoberts forces his way into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. McRoberts is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marciano defends it well. Marciano tries to get to full guard but McRoberts has control of the leg. McRoberts is looking for a kimura.
