The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zai rushes Petrov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Zai tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Petrov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Petrov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Zai tries to lock up and control but Petrov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

William Zai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Petrov pushes Zai off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Horrible takedown by Petrov or perhaps it was just good defense by Zai which made him look bad.
Zai throws a leg kick which misses Petrov's front leg but catches the back leg as Petrov tries to avoid it.
Petrov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zai sprawls well initially but Petrov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Petrov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Petrov is in close to Zai's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Petrov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
