Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hole In (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Hey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hole In!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Hey!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hey gets the takedown into side control.
In is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hey connects with a decent elbow.
In looking for a sweep but Hey has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Hey thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Hey landing shots from mount.
Hey throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Hey trying to control but In is having none of it.
Hey thowing shots but they're missing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
In working to try and regain half guard.
Hey misses with a head shot.
In is bucking up trying to escape but Hey cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

In bucks Hey off and manages to get back to his feet!

In changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hey dodges the ground and pound from In.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hey gets back to half guard.
In throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hey pushes In off but In dives into side control.
In scores with a couple of short elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hey tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hey is pushing In's head away, looking to escape. In manages to hold on to the position though.
Hey trying to control but In flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
In is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards In.

Can Hey hold on?! In is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
In is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Hey up.
A bit of a pause in the action here. In controlling the positon.
In has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Hey.
In scores with punches and elbows.

Hey is trapped and In is scoring with shots to the head and body.
In is landing with strikes from the back.
In is punishing Hey with strikes - can he finish him?!
Hey wants to get back to his feet.
Hey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with In. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee is taking a good look at Hey as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from In!
In lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
In scores with strikes from the back.
In has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
I would not like to be Hey right now.

Hey manages to escape to his feet.

In doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hey counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hey.

Hey manages to break the clinch.
In with a lazy takedown attempt

and Hey counters with a single leg into guard. In didn't expect that.
Hey trying to control but In is working from the bottom.
In wants to stand up but Hey is controlling him.
Hey is looking to work some ground and pound but In has wrist control.

Hey drops back, looking for a kneebar! In looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. In looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from In!

A lull in the action here.
Hey struggling a bit here.
In controlling from side mount.
In is looking to take a break and control but Hey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
In throws an elbow but Hey slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
In landing strikes.
In wants to control but Hey is keeping him busy.
Hey is looking for a sweep.
The strikes coming from In are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

In throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hey was covering up waiting for the punch and In finishes the takedown easily into guard.
In prevents Hey from getting back to his feet.
In might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hey is breathing heavily.
Hey can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as In controls the pace.
Hey keeping moving, preventing In from controlling successfully.

In seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
In in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
In sitting in guard here, content to control.
In missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Hey has momentary wrist control but In slips an elbow through the middle.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hey wants to hit a switch here but In passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hey there!
In trying to control but he's not successful this time.
In controlling from mount.
In landing strikes from the mount and Hey is in trouble!
In content just to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hole In will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


In with a poor takedown

so Hey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Hole In just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
A cross from Hey lands.
Hey throws a series of punches but In moves out of range.
Hey tries to close the distance and clinch but In swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
In avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
In has his takedown stuffed

and Hey counters by clinching up.

Hey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hey.
Hey tries to score with some ground and pound. In controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Hey with the ground and pound but In regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Hey not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Hey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hey throwing shots but In is blocking nicely.
Hey with the ground and pound but In uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Hey trying to control the position from guard on top but In is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hey postures up in In's guard and throws a big left but In blocks it.

In wriggles free and stands up.
In has his takedown stuffed

and Hey counters with a nice double leg into side control. In won't be happy with that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hole In. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hey wants to lay and pray for a moment but In keeps working.
Hey fails to land a wild elbow strike.
In is trying to buck Hey off.

Hey wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by In, who protects the arm well.
In regains half guard, as Hey was trying to land strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
In is trying to stand.
Hey trying to control from In's half guard. In has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Hey prevents In from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hey bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Hey forces In back against the cage and clinches.

Hey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hey closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hey in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Hey wants to stand but In is controlling his arm.
In wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
In is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hey's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

And that's the end of the fight!
David Hey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
