Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kova Luu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lawrence Pettimore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kova Luu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lawrence Pettimore! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Luu lands a jab to Pettimore's midsection. Pettimore showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Luu.
Luu moves out of range of the strikes. Excellent takedown into side control there by Luu. Luu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pettimore has escaped the position, nice work there. Luu fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pettimore keeps Luu under control for a moment. Luu is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pettimore knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Pettimore is trying to control Luu's posture but Luu avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettimore manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Still in half guard, Luu seems content to control. Luu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pettimore is just riding it out for now. Luu eventually gives up the hold. Pettimore wants to control but Luu is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Luu wants to take a breather but Pettimore is having none of it. Luu sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pettimore defending well though. Pettimore trying to control from the bottom.
Luu is stalling here. Pettimore is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Luu seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pettimore has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Pettimore taking a breather here. Pettimore decides to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettimore looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Pettimore cracks the inside of Luu's front leg. Luu is breathing heavily. Pettimore avoids a punch combination nicely.
A left and a right from Pettimore both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Kova Luu has been cut. Pettimore misses with an uppercut. Luu saw that one coming. Good standup being displayed there by Pettimore as he connects with a hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Luu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pettimore moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Whack! Pettimore lands a heavy head kick that drops Luu. The ref tackles Pettimore to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Luu was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Lawrence Pettimore!
