Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Hawthorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jimmy James has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimmy James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackson Hawthorn! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawthorn thuds a left hand into James's body. Jackson Hawthorn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A swing and a miss from Hawthorn. James bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. James looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. James is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hawthorn has escaped the position, nice work there. Hawthorn is trying to control James's posture but James avoids it. James is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hawthorn will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Hawthorn holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawthorn is looking to regain half guard here but James keeps moving and retains side control. James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hawthorn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. James wants to control but Hawthorn is keeping him busy. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. James is looking to take a break and control but Hawthorn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hawthorn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but James wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. James is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hawthorn has escaped the position, nice work there. Hawthorn is pushing James's head away, looking to escape. James manages to hold on to the position though. James decides to stand back up. Nice sprawl there from Hawthorn as James shoots in. The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though. James fails with a takedown attempt. Hawthorn throws the left hand but James avoids the punch easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James is looking to clinch but Hawthorn is avoiding it.
Hawthorn scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hawthorn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Hawthorn is looking for a kimura but James is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hawthorn to get the leverage. Hawthorn looks to land a strike but James avoids it nicely and regains full guard. James utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. James is trying to control the position but Hawthorn postures up. Hawthorn tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard. Hawthorn looks gassed! James manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round. James controlling his opponent. James goes for an armbar but Hawthorn turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hawthorn. James pulls Hawthorn in close to prevent any damage. James looking to control.

A close round but Jackson Hawthorn will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
James fails with a takedown attempt. Hawthorn thumps James with a low kick. Hawthorn's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Hawthorn duly obliges. Hawthorn tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance. Hawthorn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hawthorn pushes James up against the cage in a clinch. Hawthorn scores with a shot to the side of James's head. A right hook to the body lands for Hawthorn.
James has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hawthorn avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hawthorn misses with some punches.
Hawthorn ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hawthorn no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Hawthorn keeping full guard, as James tries to pass. James trying to control but Hawthorn is working from the bottom. James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hawthorn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawthorn keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. Hawthorn has James pulled in close to control his posture. James looking to pass the guard. James pushing down on Hawthorn's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. James works his foot free and advances to mount. Hawthorn tries to lock up and control but James gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. James is working for a guillotine from mount but Hawthorn frees his head quite easily.

Hawthorn with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Hawthorn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. James controls Hawthorn momentarily but Hawthorn frees himself. Hawthorn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. James keeping moving, preventing Hawthorn from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hawthorn stopping the sweep attempt from James.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hawthorn missing with a left hand there. James was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. James shoots in and drives through. Hawthorn sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James doesn't manage to clinch there - Hawthorn circles away.
A big left from Hawthorn misses. James takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Jackson Hawthorn has been cut. Hawthorn is breathing heavily. James avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
James tries to bum rush Hawthorn with a series of wild strikes but Hawthorn uses good footwork to avoid the assault. James throws a right and a left that Hawthorn avoids nicely. Hawthorn scores with a sloppy right hand. James should have avoided that one. James has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. James fails to land with a series of punches.

Jackson Hawthorn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jackson Hawthorn's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Hawthorn controls James momentarily but James frees himself. James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hawthorn swivels though and keeps the full guard. James stands and throws Hawthorn's legs to the side, diving into side control. Hawthorn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. James looks to land a combination but Hawthorn avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. James wants to clinch and James takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A punch combination from James misses. James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hawthorn. Hawthorn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hawthorn wants it to stay on the feet. Hawthorn throws a lazy right hand but James sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. James misses with a few strikes there.
James scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. James fails in his attempt to clinch. James tries to clinch but Hawthorn is having none of it. James takes a swing at Hawthorn's ribcage but misses. Hawthorn darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Hawthorn trying to control from James's half guard. James has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hawthorn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as James works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hawthorn clinches up with James and pushes him back against the cage. Hawthorn pushes James back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hawthorn. James can't get the takedown.

James blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hawthorn throws a punch but it's blocked by James. Hawthorn misses with a short punch on the inside. Hawthorn misses with a punch on the inside.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jackson Hawthorn. Well Hawthorn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
