Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jaec caturan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bryan Gunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, jaec caturan!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
caturan scores with a nice body kick.
Gunn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says caturan as he avoids it easily.
Gunn tries to close the distance and clinch but caturan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gunn moves into the clinch.

Gunn gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Gunn is looking for a kimura here.
caturan is trying to stand.
Gunn thows a huge punch but caturan dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gunn wants to pass to mount but caturan is defending the position.
Gunn prevents caturan from improving his position.
Gunn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gunn is looking for a kimura here.
caturan is trying to stand.
caturan wants to get back to full guard but Gunn has mounted him!

Gunn looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
caturan blocking the ground and pound.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
caturan is desperately trying to improve his position but Gunn has a good base and remains in mount.

Gunn gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Gunn moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Gunn is breathing heavily.
Gunn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gunn misses with a jab, cross combination.

caturan instigates a clinch.
caturan goes for a takedown attempt but Gunn pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
caturan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gunn.

caturan pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
caturan delivers a nice body kick.
caturan with a poor takedown

and Gunn counters with a shoot takedown. caturan fights it but they end up in guard.
caturan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Gunn wants to get up but he can't break caturan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
caturan has control of Gunn's left arm, preventing Gunn from doing any damage.
caturan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Gunn wants to stand but caturan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

caturan looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gunn puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Gunn rushes caturan and presses him up against the cage.

Gunn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
caturan looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Gunn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

caturan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
caturan tries to hold on but Gunn postures up.
caturan wants to get back to his feet.
Gunn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as caturan is looking to escape.
caturan avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gunn.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gunn looking to control but caturan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
caturan is controlling an arm, preventing Gunn from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Gunn throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for caturan because Gunn loaded up on that one.
caturan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gunn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gunn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as caturan is looking to escape.

caturan tries to reverse the position but Gunn maintains control.
Gunn tries to control but caturan wriggling away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if caturan can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Gunn gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Gunn scores with a kick to the body.
Bryan Gunn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gunn throws a front kick that sends caturan stumbling back into the cage.

Gunn has caturan up against the cage in a clinch.

and Gunn counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gunn.

Gunn shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gunn showed some decent athleticism there.
caturan is doing well to control the position and prevent Gunn from advancing to side control.

caturan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

caturan swats away the attempt to clinch by Gunn.

Gunn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
caturan tries to get to full guard but Gunn has control of the leg.

caturan wants to control but Gunn is keeping busy.
Gunn is taking a breather. caturan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gunn is nestled in close to caturan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
caturan tries to get to full guard but Gunn has control of the leg.
caturan trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

caturan really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Gunn scoring with strikes but caturan is staying in there.
Gunn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bryan Gunn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gunn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
