Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lukasz Koczot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pat Nelson! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koczot throws a nice looking combination but Nelson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nelson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nelson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nelson showed some decent athleticism there. Koczot is looking to escape. Nelson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Koczot has one foot on Nelson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Nelson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Nelson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Koczot is trying to stand up here but Nelson is controlling him well. Koczot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nelson on the ground. Nelson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Nelson stops Koczot from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nelson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Koczot! Koczot really wants to buck Nelson off and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Koczot takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Koczot is breathing heavily. Nelson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Koczot can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Nelson raining down shots from the mount! Koczot is in a horrible position here. Nelson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Nelson is working for a guillotine from mount but Koczot frees his head quite easily.
Koczot squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Nelson wants to finish this one by submission but Koczot is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Nelson. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nelson is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Koczot is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Koczot flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Nelson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Koczot and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Nelson slips an arm under Koczot chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Nelson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Nelson is squeezing on Koczot like an anaconda would it's prey. Koczot fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
