Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Polk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and QL Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Polk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, QL Hicks! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polk fails in his attempt to clinch. Nice defenses there by Hicks. Hicks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Polk manages to avoid it. Polk blocks a head kick by Hicks.
A solid leg kick lands there for Polk.
Polk moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Polk throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hicks uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Polk. Polk looks to land a right hand but Hicks moved out of range. Polk throws a front kick that sends Hicks stumbling back into the cage. Hicks has a takedown stuffed. Hicks checks a leg kick. Hicks throws a lazy right hand but Polk sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hicks throws a good cross that connects.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hicks avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hicks misses with a low kick. Hicks throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hicks throws a body punch but Polk moves out of range. Polk swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Polk throws out a loose jab but Hicks uses good head movement to avoid it. Polk throws a jab when Hicks was well out of range. Hicks throws a leg kick and Polk counters with a leg kick. Polk wants to clinch. Hicks closes this distance looking for a takedown but Polk circles away. An inside leg kick from Polk misses. Hicks fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hicks moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Polk lands a jab to Hicks's midsection. Polk doesn't manage to clinch there - Hicks circles away.
Polk lands a nice shot to the body.
Polk sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. An inside leg kick lands from Polk. Hicks looks gassed! Hicks shoots in for a takedown but Polk shows good takedown defense. James Polk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of QL Hicks. Polk is looking to clinch but Hicks is avoiding it.
Polk misses the jab. Polk misses with a hook. James Polk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Polk throws a body punch but Hicks moves out of range. Hicks ducks under a wild hook from Polk. A telegraphed right hand from Polk misses the target. Polk dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice straight punches there by Polk. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Polk.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big left from Polk misses. Polk throws a hook but Hicks avoids it easily. Hicks swats away the attempt to clinch by Polk. Hicks moves out of range of the strikes. Polk cracks Hicks with a right hand to the side of the head. Polk tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hicks swats him away and circles back towards the center. Polk scores with a decent looking hook. Hicks is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Polk. Hicks circles away from the clinch attempt.
Polk lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Hicks is looking to clinch. Hicks ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Polk has taken the fight to the clinch.
Polk creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Good body shot from Polk.
Polk displaying some good clinch control by pressing Hicks up against the cage. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Polk lands with a light punch inside. Polk lands an elbow just above Hicks 's eye. Hicks is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Polk lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Polk misses with a short punch on the inside. Polk lands a hook that snaps the head of Hicks backwards. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Polk lands a body shot in the clinch.
Polk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Polk fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Polk tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hicks swats him away and circles back towards the center. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Polk dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Polk on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Hicks throws a combination that misses and Polk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Polk looks to land a left hand but Hicks moved out of range nicely. Hicks uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Polk. Polk lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Jab, jab by Polk - just one landing. Hicks takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Polk fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hicks manages to avoid it. James Polk is winning the standup battle so far. Polk wants to clinch up but Hicks keeps it at a distance. Horrible takedown by Hicks or perhaps it was just good defense by Polk which made him look bad. Polk clobbers Hicks with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Hicks is breathing heavily. Hicks takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Polk misses with a wild combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hicks defending well as Polk loads up on a big left hand. Hicks throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Polk tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Polk fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hicks looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Hicks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Polk moves away. Polk scores with a jab. Hicks gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Polk. Polk works over Hicks's head and body with a nice combination. Polk finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Polk throws a jab when Hicks was well out of range. Hicks thows a body shot but no joy. Polk defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hicks.

Polk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hicks moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nice defenses there by Hicks. Polk misses with an uppercut. Hicks saw that one coming. Hicks throws a body punch but Polk moves out of range. Polk misses with a body shot.

Polk lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Hicks takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Polk fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hicks on the side of the head. Hicks shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hicks wants to control from the top but Polk keeps moving. Polk is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hicks throws and elbow that misses. Polk uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hicks's guard. Nice move by Polk!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hicks is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Polk trying to control but Hicks is working from the bottom. Polk stopping the sweep attempt from Hicks. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hicks being controlled here, momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Polk dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Hicks fails with the takedown. Hicks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Polk swats him away and circles back towards the center. Polk takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Hicks bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Polk lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hicks's sensitive parts. Hicks swinging wildly here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hicks avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Polk throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hicks sees it coming and avoids it easily. Polk cracks Hicks with an open hand slap. Hicks gets in close and instigates a clinch. A right hand to the body from Polk.
Hicks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Polk misses with some punches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hicks. Polk is looking to control Hicks's arms but Hicks gets an underhook and turns him. Now Polk has his back to the cage. Polk prevents a body shot from Hicks. Polk misses with some punches.
Nice body punch from Polk. Polk is pushing Hicks up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Hicks blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Polk tries to break the clinch but Hicks is controlling the position. Polk tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Polk manages to break the clinch.

Polk misses with a hook. Hicks ducked under it nicely. Polk misses with a few strikes there.
Polk pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Polk is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hicks can do to turn this around? Polk throws the left hand but Hicks avoids the punch easily. Nice defenses there by Hicks. Hicks lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Hicks tries to clinch up but Polk circles away and keeps his distance. Polk takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hicks ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hicks throws a shot from downtown. Polk moves away and avoids it. Hicks bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Polk's head. Polk throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Polk gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hicks looking to sit in guard and control but Polk gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Polk wants to control from the top but Hicks keeps moving. QL Hicks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hicks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Polk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Polk trying to control the position from guard on top but Hicks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. James Polk is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hicks pulls Polk in close to his closed guard and prevents Polk from doing any damage or advancing position.
And that's the end of the fight! James Polk showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Polk, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
