Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Galvao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucian Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Galvao comes to the cage accompanied by Pregador Luo - Bate Pesadão. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Galvao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucian Rodrigues!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galvao darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rodrigues tries to get to full guard but Galvao has control of the leg.
Galvao is nestled in close to Rodrigues, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Galvao has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Galvao is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Rodrigues as he works his way to full guard.

Rodrigues is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Rodrigues is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rodrigues tries to pass the half guard into mount. Galvao knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Rodrigues wants to stand up but Galvao is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodrigues jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Galvao manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Rodrigues tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rodrigues has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Galvao gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Galvao is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Galvao is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rodrigues's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rodrigues's back!

You can see the frustration on Rodrigues's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Rodrigues tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Rodrigues is desperately trying to improve his position but Galvao has a good base and remains in mount.
Galvao with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Rodrigues manages to reverse the position and now he's in Galvao's guard. Nice work there by Rodrigues.

Galvao lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rodrigues!
Galvao lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rodrigues hang on?
Galvao takes Rodrigues's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Rodrigues is in trouble.
Galvao is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Rodrigues has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Galvao has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Rodrigues taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Galvao doesn't care though - he's delighted!
