The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayweather moves out of range of the body kick from Gordy.
Gordy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mayweather as he avoids it easily.

Gordy moves into range and clinches up with Mayweather.
Gordy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mayweather gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Gordy tries to pull guard but Mayweather won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gordy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mayweather swivels and escapes.

and Mayweather counters with a series of strikes. Gordy will be more careful next time no doubt.
Mayweather tries to bum rush Gordy with a series of wild strikes but Gordy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mayweather throws a right and a left that Gordy avoids nicely.

and Mayweather counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Gordy manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
