Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Fontana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Serrano Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Fontana has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Fontana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Serrano Steele!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fontana closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Check out the look on Fontana's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Steele is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fontana asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fontana wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Steele, who protects the arm well.
Steele is looking to get back to his feet here but Fontana is keeping cool and he's managed to take Steele's back.
Fontana has good solid back control here.
Steele prevents Fontana from getting a body triangle.

Fontana is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Steele is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Fontana connects with a big shot to the side of Steele's head.

Steele wants to get back to his feet.

Fontana is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Steele is defending well though. Fontana let's go of the attempt for now.

Fontana is looking to control Steele but Steele is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Steele rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fontana shoots in but no luck this time.
Steele shoots in but Fontana avoids the takedown attempt easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fontana closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steele circles away.
Steele throws a series of punches but Fontana avoids them all with ease.
Steele is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fontana doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Steele counters with an outside leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Fontana. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fontana is breathing heavily.
Steele lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Steele.
Fontana ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Steele moves away.
Fontana comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Steele moves into the clinch.
Steele taking a breather.
Fontana tries to stall but Steele uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Steele keeps control of Fontana as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Steele manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Steele missing with knees to the body.
Steele keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fontana's efforts to push away.
Nice body punch from Steele - that landed with a thud.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Serrano Steele will probably get the nod.
That's time! Fontana's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

You can see the frustration on Fontana's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fontana throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Steele working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Fontana is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Steele's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Steele's back!

Fontana has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Steele's body.
Steele looking very determined here, making life difficult for Fontana.
Fontana throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Fontana lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Steele.
Steele is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fontana misses with an elbow to the head.

Fontana is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Fontana tries to keep control of the position but Steele is staying busy.
Steele can't escape the position.
Steele is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Steele tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Steele is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Fontana lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Serrano Steele will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Fontana throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steele's waist but Steele gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fontana off to one side.

Fontana looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fontana avoids the body shot from Steele.
Fontana lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Steele backs up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd cheers as Fontana lands an impressive looking overhand right. Steele doesn't seem phased though.

Steele takes the fight into the clinch.
Fontana is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Steele pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Steele lands an elbow inside that Fontana shrugs off.

Steele's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Fontana misses with some punches.
Steele prevents the takedown attempt.
Steele stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Steele landing knees to the body.
Steele lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Fontana or not.
Fontana takes a knee right on the jaw!

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Steele receives a warning from the referee for stalling.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Fontana.
A left hand lands to the body for Steele.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Fontana has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Steele is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Fontana decides to pull guard.
Fontana is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steele accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Steele missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Steele is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Steele looking to sit in guard and control but Fontana gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A combination from Fontana does no damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fontana rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Steele moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Steele stuffs the takedown.
Steele has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fontana finds it's way round the side to connect with Steele's head.
Fontana lands a really nice looking cross but Steele seems unphased.

Serrano Steele is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Steele slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Serrano Steele comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Steele winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
