Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heath Red Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Heath Red Rage has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Batista!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista leaves Red Rage with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Red Rage looks to land a combination but Batista avoids it well.
Batista tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Red Rage swivels and escapes.
Red Rage tries to clinch there but Batista circles away.
Batista misses the shot to the body.
Batista tries to score with a low kick but Red Rage moves his leg out of the way.
Batista gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Red Rage finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Red Rage blocks a head kick by Batista.
Red Rage doesn't manage to clinch there - Batista circles away.
Red Rage throws a half hearted mid kick.
Batista fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Heath Red Rage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Batista.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Batista can do anything to dispel that myth.
Batista wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Batista is trying to improve his position.
Batista is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Red Rage is controlling him well.
Batista keeps Red Rage under control for a moment.
Red Rage postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Red Rage throws an elbow but Batista slips to the side and avoids it well.
A lull in the action here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Red Rage avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Red Rage closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Batista did well to prevent Red Rage getting side control.

Red Rage decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Batista, up you get!
Red Rage changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Batista tries to avoid it but Red Rage manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Batista to the ground. Batista escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Batista misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Batista shoots for a double leg takedown but Red Rage sprawls well. He's pushed Batista's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Batista gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Red Rage.
Batista throws out a loose jab but Red Rage uses good head movement to avoid it.
Batista has his takedown stuffed
and Red Rage counters with a straight right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heath Red Rage dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Batista wants to stand but Red Rage is controlling the position.

The fight stays on the outside here - Red Rage looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Batista looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Red Rage with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Batista thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Red Rage to regain full guard.
Red Rage wants to sweep but no luck.
Batista seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Batista is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Red Rage avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Batista accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Heath Red Rage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Batista manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Batista can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Red Rage is looking to escape.

Batista lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Red Rage!

The referee warns Red Rage that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Batista has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Batista throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Red Rage because Batista loaded up on that one.

Batista jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Red Rage is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Red Rage and Batista has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Heath Red Rage.
Well Red Rage has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
