Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez throws a big shot that misses.
Perez throws out a loose jab but Jelly uses good head movement to avoid it.
Alvaro Perez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fighters circling - Perez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Perez drops Jelly with a beautiful combination! Jelly stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Perez is looking for the KO!
Jelly is rocked!
It looks like Peanut Jelly has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perez cracks a nice hook into Jelly's ribs.
Oh Jelly is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jelly is breathing heavily.
Perez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jelly seems to have got his legs back now.
Perez connects with a superb combination that knocks Jelly out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Perez before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Jelly!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alvaro Perez!
