PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Theodore Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Roy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Theodore Fisher has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Theodore Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Roy!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher tries to bum rush Roy with a series of wild strikes but Roy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Fisher will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Fisher throws a right and a left that Roy avoids nicely.

Roy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fisher's head.

Fisher throws a jab but it's blocked by Roy.

Fisher clinches but Roy breaks the clinch

and Roy counters with a single leg into guard. Fisher didn't expect that.

Fisher looking for a guillotine here but Roy defends easily.
Roy passes Fisher's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Fisher is trying to stand up here but Roy is controlling him well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

and Roy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fisher's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fisher has control of Roy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Roy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
