Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre SIlva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlton Leben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlton Leben told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
SIlva lands with a kick to the temple. Leben shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
SIlva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Leben napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Leben is looking to regain half guard here but SIlva keeps moving and retains side control.
SIlva is chipping away with strikes.
SIlva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Leben knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Leben is trying to control SIlva's posture but SIlva avoids it.

SIlva is looking for a sweep. Leben is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

SIlva tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Leben avoids it.

SIlva changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Leben fights it off and pushes away nicely.

SIlva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leben paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Alexandre SIlva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

SIlva throws a sloppy head kick and Leben moves out of range easily.
Leben clinches up with SIlva and pushes him back against the cage.
Leben is looking for a takedown up against the cage. SIlva gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Leben connects with a nice short shot to SIlva's temple.

and Leben counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. SIlva is lucky that one didn't land flush.

SIlva wants to get back to striking at distance but Leben won't allow it.

Leben shoots in for a double leg but SIlva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
