Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hinuri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Lee Redmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Hinuri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Lee Redmond!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Redmond shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hinuri is trying to defend but Redmond finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Redmond wants to pass to mount but Hinuri is defending the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Redmond thows a huge punch but Hinuri dodges it nicely.
Hinuri is looking for a sweep. Redmond is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Redmond seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hinuri manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Hinuri is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Redmond has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hinuri had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Redmond defends it easily.

Redmond feints and as Hinuri raises his hands in defense, Redmond changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hinuri has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Redmond can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Hinuri will probably get the nod.

Hinuri tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hinuri has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ground and pound from Hinuri seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Hinuri can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Redmond is looking to escape.

Hinuri lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Hinuri is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Redmond throws a chopping leg kick but Hinuri manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Redmond changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hinuri looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Redmond cracks Hinuri with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Redmond is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hinuri has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hinuri!

Hinuri shoots for a double leg takedown but Redmond sprawls well. He's pushed Hinuri's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hinuri lands with a kick to the temple. Redmond shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hinuri rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Redmond moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Hinuri clinches up with Redmond and pushes him back against the ropes.
Redmond is trying to drag Hinuri to the mat but Hinuri just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Redmond jumps guard but Hinuri stands there with Redmond around his waist. Redmond gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
