Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hirihito Yoshita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoshita comes into the arena with Hole in the wall blaring out of the sound system. Hirihito Yoshita has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Masters!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Yoshita swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Masters avoids the head kick by Yoshita.
Yoshita fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Masters.
Yoshita scores with a leg kick.
Masters looks gassed!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yoshita throws a wild body kick that Masters sees coming a mile off.
Masters closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yoshita circles away.
Yoshita buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Yoshita feints and as Masters raises his hands in defense, Yoshita changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Yoshita is looking to stand up but Masters won't let him.

Masters is working an open guard so Yoshita takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Yoshita throws a right hand that Masters ducks under and follows up with a left that Masters also avoids with ease.

Yoshita works over Masters's head and body with a nice combination.
Masters blocks a head kick by Yoshita.

Yoshita gets a takedown into half guard.
Yoshita seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Yoshita wants to stand up but Masters is controlling the position.
Yoshita trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Yoshita closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Masters's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Yoshita stands up and we're back to a striking position.

and Yoshita counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Yoshita.

Masters throws a low kick, looking for Yoshita's leg but Yoshita calmly moves out of range.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Masters takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Masters is looking to clinch but Yoshita is avoiding it.
Yoshita shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masters as he avoids it easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Yoshita throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Yoshita throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Masters's waist but Masters gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yoshita off to one side.
Masters shoots for a takedown but Yoshita saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Masters doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Yoshita makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Masters really felt that one!

Masters looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

and Yoshita counters with a two punch combo.

Yoshita wants to stand but Masters has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Masters is looking to take a break and control but Yoshita is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Yoshita is staying active underneath Masters, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Yoshita does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Yoshita throws an overhand right that lands on Masters's shoulder, as Masters tries to avoid the shot.

Masters's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Yoshita sneaks out the side door and pushes Masters away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Yoshita tries to score a power double leg takedown but Masters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yoshita somewhat.

Masters has Yoshita pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Yoshita manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Masters drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Yoshita gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Yoshita has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Masters uses from the top position.

Yoshita tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Masters paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Yoshita shoots in and bounces Masters off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Masters escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yoshita gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Masters pushes a forearm under Yoshita's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Yoshita is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ken Masters!
