Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shane Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sung Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sung Kim is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Martin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sung Kim! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin tries to clinch up but Kim circles away and keeps his distance. Kim fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kim looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Martin is fending him off so far but Kim persists. Nope, Martin circles away and we're back to standing. Martin wants to clinch up but Kim keeps it at a distance. Martin takes a swing at Kim's ribcage but misses. Kim throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kim has taken the fight to the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kim. Martin trying to land knees to the body.
Kim misses with the head strike.
Kim jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Martin walks away with a smile on his face. Kim gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Shane Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sung Kim. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martin just misses with a punch to the body.
Martin leaves Kim with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The fight stays on the outside here - Kim looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kim shoots in but Martin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin slaps away a takedown attempt from Kim, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kim tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Martin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kim tries to avoid it but Martin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kim to the ground. Kim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kim looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kim misses with a takedown and Martin counters with a single leg into guard. Kim didn't expect that. Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Kim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Martin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Martin throws a strike but Kim rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Martin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kim is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Martin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kim is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kim wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving. Kim loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kim lands a head kick. Martin smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Kim turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Kim shoots and misses and Martin counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Martin is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kim tries to score a body lock takedown but Martin shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Kim breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kim looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kim clinches up with Martin and pushes him back against the cage. Martin takes a shot to the head. Kim manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Martin is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Martin tries to pull guard but Kim holds him up against the cage and eventually Martin drops back down to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kim has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Martin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Martin is trying to stall.

Kim gets through Martin's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Kim keeps control of Martin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kim escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Martin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kim napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kim is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Kim manages to regain full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Kim flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Martin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kim works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kim manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Martin manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kim decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Kim throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Martin counters with a single leg into guard. Kim didn't expect that. Kim wants to stand and escape but Martin is having none of it. Martin stands up over Kim, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Martin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kim has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Martin has managed to get both his arms back between Kim's legs - danger averted. Kim preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Martin wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving. Martin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kim on the ground. Martin works over Kim with some ground and pound from guard. Martin forces his way into half guard. Martin tries to pass to full mount but Kim defends it.

Martin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kim throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Kim throws a series of punches but Martin moves out of range. Kim fails with the takedown and Martin counters with a lovely shot to the body. Martin slaps away a takedown attempt from Kim, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kim keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Martin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Kim is pulling down on Martin's head. It's preventing any offense from Martin, at least for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kim misses with a takedown attempt and Martin moves into the clinch. That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Martin keeps the fight on the outside. Kim keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kim tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kim lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kim clinches up with Martin and pushes him back against the cage. Come on Martin - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Martin effectively controlling the action here. Kim's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Martin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kim was well out of range. Poor timing from Martin. Kim tries to clinch there but Martin circles away.
Shane Martin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kim lands with a slapping head kick. Kim misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kim has his takedown stuffed and Martin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Shane Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sung Kim.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kim is not content to let Martin control the position. Martin trying to mount his opponent but Kim defends it. Sung Kim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kim is refusing to be controlled, as Martin sits in half guard. Kim works his way to full guard. Good work. Martin thows a big elbow that misses. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kim is on top in guard.
Martin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kim defends well.
And that's the end of the fight! Shane Martin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Martin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
