Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chris Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Power!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Silva scores with a crisp jab that stopped Power in his tracks.
Silva tries to clinch there but Power circles away.

Power darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Silva wants to improve his position but Power is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Power wants to get back to his feet.
Silva manages to get to full guard.

Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva working for a triangle but Power defends it easily.

Power avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Silva is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Power is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Power gets back to full guard.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Power is keeping the position.
Power trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Power is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Power wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Power bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Silva tries to clinch there but Power circles away.

Power gets a takedown into half guard.

Silva actively working from the bottom here.
Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Power pulls his head out easily.

Power really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Power landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Power winds up and cracks Silva with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Power lands strikes from half guard.

Silva actively working from the bottom here.
Power wants to pass the guard but Silva is defending well.

Silva looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Power gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Silva fails in his attempt to clinch.
Power circles away from the clinch attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Power to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Silva keeping full guard, as Power tries to pass.
Power slips nicely into half guard.
Power seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Silva is staying active underneath Power, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Power throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Power looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Silva will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Power shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Silva napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Silva manages to get back to half guard.
Silva tries to roll over but Power keeps him under control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Silva manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Power must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Silva pushes a forearm under Power's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Power is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chris Silva!
