Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into the arena with Big John blaring out of the sound system. Cortez has chosen Slash - By the Sword as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Xavier Cortez!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Smith is out of range.
Cortez blocks a head kick by Smith.
Smith shoots for a takedown but Cortez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith throws a wild body kick that Cortez sees coming a mile off.
Smith moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Smith lands with an uppercut that bounces Cortez off the cage and back into rage.
A left and a right from Smith both land. Nice combination.
Cortez throws a head kick that misses
and Smith counters with an outside leg kick.
A right-left combo lands from Smith.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cortez throws a head kick that misses
and Smith counters with a two punch combo.
Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A nice leg kick lands there from Smith.
Cortez slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
A combination from Smith does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cortez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
Smith tries to bum rush Cortez with a series of wild strikes but Cortez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cortez moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Smith connects with a high kick.
A low kick from Cortez misses
and Smith counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Cortez throws a sloppy head kick
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cortez looks gassed!
Cortez throws a lazy head kick
and Smith counters with a head kick that drops Cortez to the mat! Cortez scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Cortez is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Cortez moves out of range easily.
Cortez sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Smith looks to land a combination. Cortez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Smith lands a big head kick that sends Cortez to the canvas! Smith follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Smith!
