Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brandon DaSilva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Doughty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Doughty told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon DaSilva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Doughty! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from DaSilva is defended easily by Doughty. DaSilva closes the distance and clinches up with Doughty, looking for a takedown. DaSilva pushes Doughty against the cage but Doughty circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. DaSilva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Doughty avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandon DaSilva. That's going to take a lot out of him. DaSilva shoots in for a takedown but Doughty shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. DaSilva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Doughty slaps away a takedown attempt from DaSilva, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. DaSilva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Doughty sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. DaSilva drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Doughty is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Doughty is trying to improve his position. Doughty is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. DaSilva is looking to take a break and control but Doughty is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. DaSilva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Doughty has escaped the position, nice work there. DaSilva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Doughty is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Doughty manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Doughty has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can DaSilva defend it? Doughty steps over the head and cranks it - DaSilva is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Doughty!
