Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Waddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Eagle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Waddy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Eagle! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Waddy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Eagle but Eagle pushes him off and we're back to square one. Waddy tries to clinch up but Eagle circles away and keeps his distance. Waddy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Waddy missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Waddy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Waddy thows a huge punch but Eagle dodges it nicely.
Waddy is working for a submission of some sort.
Waddy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's one minute gone in the round. Eagle is trying to stand back up but Waddy is controlling him
Waddy looks to land a strike but Eagle avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Waddy stops Eagle from standing up. Waddy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Waddy. Waddy takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Eagle throws a right and a left that Waddy avoids nicely. Waddy is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Eagle. Waddy takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Waddy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Waddy lands in his opponent's guard. Waddy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waddy with a flurry of punches that miss. Waddy is looking to work some ground and pound but Eagle has wrist control. Waddy throwing strikes but missing. Waddy throws and elbow that misses. Eagle uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Waddy's guard. Nice move by Eagle! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Eagle lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Waddy keeping full guard, as Eagle tries to pass. Eagle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Waddy throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Eagle makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Eagle chips away with some ground and pound. Waddy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Eagle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Eagle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Waddy is breathing heavily. Waddy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Eagle is aware though and is defending well. Eagle lands a couple of decent looking shots. Eagle postures up in Waddy's guard and throws a big left but Waddy blocks it. Eagle wants to control from the top but Waddy keeps moving. Waddy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Eagle working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Waddy's head. Waddy throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Waddy keeping full guard, as Eagle tries to pass. Waddy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Eagle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Eagle trying to control but Waddy is working from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Waddy keeping full guard, as Eagle tries to pass. Waddy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Eagle is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Eagle will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A looping hook to the body misses from Waddy. Eagle does a little dance to reset his feet. Eagle gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Eagle can't keep his opponent in guard - Waddy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Waddy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Waddy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Eagle's head. Waddy stops Eagle from getting back to his feet.
Waddy is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Eagle has managed to free his arm - good work. Waddy throwing shots but Eagle is blocking nicely.

Waddy missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Waddy looking for a submission but Eagle manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Waddy throws a strike but Eagle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Waddy keeping moving, preventing Eagle from controlling successfully. Eagle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Waddy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Eagle has managed to get both his arms back between Waddy's legs - danger averted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eagle with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Waddy trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Eagle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Waddy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Waddy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Eagle's guard. Waddy tries to free his leg and advance position but Eagle is retaining full guard. Waddy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Eagle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Waddy. Waddy is looking to work some ground and pound but Eagle has wrist control. Waddy won't allow Eagle to get back to his feet. Waddy postures up in Eagle's guard and throws a big left but Eagle blocks it. Waddy is looking to work some ground and pound but Eagle has wrist control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Eagle will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Eagle tries to bum rush Waddy with a series of wild strikes but Waddy uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Matt Waddy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Waddy scores with a takedown into Eagle's guard. Waddy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Eagle works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Waddy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Waddy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Waddy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Eagle wants to stand up but Waddy is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Waddy dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Waddy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Eagle tries to bum rush Waddy with a series of wild strikes but Waddy uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Waddy misses with a takedown attempt - Eagle sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Eagle's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Eagle duly obliges. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Waddy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Eagle sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Waddy with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Eagle to score with a decent uppercut. Horrible takedown by Waddy or perhaps it was just good defense by Eagle which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Waddy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Waddy darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Waddy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Eagle manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Waddy has Eagle in his guard. Eagle wants to pass the guard but Waddy is keeping the position. Eagle trying to control the position from guard on top but Waddy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Waddy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Poor strikes thrown by Waddy there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waddy has control of Eagle's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Eagle regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Waddy goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Eagle turns into him and now he's in Waddy's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Eagle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Waddy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Eagle wants to pass the guard but Waddy is keeping the position. Eagle passes Waddy's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Eagle throwing shots but Waddy is blocking nicely. Waddy actively working from the bottom here. Waddy is staying active underneath Eagle, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Matt Waddy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Eagle is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Waddy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Eagle is just riding it out for now. Waddy eventually gives up the hold. Eagle is trying to stand up here but Waddy is controlling him well.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matt Waddy. I think Waddy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
