Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Jerabek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Romero! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero punishes Jerabek's body with a nice straight punch. Jerabek shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Romero pinned against the cage. Romero gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Romero fails in his attempt to clinch. No luck for Jerabek with that takedown attempt. Jerabek tries to clinch there but Romero circles away.
Romero shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Romero is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Jerabek tries to get to full guard but Romero has control of the leg. Romero wants to free his trapped foot but Jerabek is holding on for dear life with his legs. Romero working over Jerabek with some ground and pound. Jerabek looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Romero looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero throwing shots but Jerabek is blocking nicely. Romero thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jerabek is trying to control but can't.

Romero stays in close to Jerabek's body and controls the position. Jerabek looking for a sweep. Not yet Jerabek, not yet. Romero postures up in Jerabek's guard and throws a big left but Jerabek blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romero is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Romero controlling from the top position. Romero content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Romero is looking to work some ground and pound but Jerabek has wrist control. Romero with a flurry of punches that miss. Jerabek throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Jerabek avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Romero postures up in Jerabek's guard and throws a big left but Jerabek blocks it. Romero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Romero throwing strikes but missing. Romero lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Romero wants to control from the top but Jerabek keeps moving.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Romero shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero slips nicely into half guard. Romero is nestled in close to Jerabek, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jerabek tries to get to full guard but Romero has control of the leg. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Romero in particular looking to stall. Romero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jerabek keeps working. Jerabek is trying to stand up here but Romero is controlling him well. Romero wants to pass the guard but Jerabek is defending well. Romero lands with a punch from half guard. Romero landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

He's hooked one of Romero's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Romero's back! Jerabek working for a choke but Romero is defending well. Jerabek is breathing heavily. Jerabek looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jerabek gets his hands free as Romero looks to control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jerabek is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Romero manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jerabek's guard. Nice work there by Romero.

George Romero dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jerabek with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Romero passes to full mount! Jerabek tries to hold on but Romero pushes him away. Romero landing strikes from the mount. Jerabek tries to reverse the position but Romero maintains control. Romero lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jerabek is looking to escape. Romero prevents Jerabek from getting the reversal. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Romero scores with a couple of good head shots there.
A nice elbow there by Romero.
Jerabek is rocked! Jerabek is trying desperately to improve position. Oh Jerabek is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Romero lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Oooh a big shot lands for Romero! Jerabek is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). George Romero!
