Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh Kos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jens Lehmann! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kos fails with a takedown attempt. Jens Lehmann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lehmann throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kos. Lehmann tries to bum rush Kos with a series of wild strikes but Kos uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lehmann rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kos moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lehmann drives through with a takedown into guard. Kos is adopting a defensive guard. Lehmann looking to pass the guard. Lehmann wanted to stand there but Kos had control of the position. Kos can't keep his opponent in guard - Lehmann advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lehmann tries to pass to full mount but Kos defends it. Lehmann tries to stand and escape but Kos actually recovers to full guard. Lehmann wanted to stand there but Kos had control of the position. Kos looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kos working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lehmann thows a big elbow that misses. Lehmann would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Lehmann stays in close to Kos's body and controls the position. Lehmann wants to stand but Kos has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kos looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lehmann will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Lehmann fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kos looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Lehmann throws a series of punches but Kos avoids them all with ease. Lehmann keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lehmann sprawls well. Lehmann wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lehmann is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kos pulls him back up using the underhooks. Lehmann has Kos pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kos manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Lehmann goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kos prevents it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lehmann closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lehmann lands in his opponent's guard. Lehmann looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Kos looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Lehmann is staying active underneath Kos, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Lehmann is trying to stand.

Josh Kos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lehmann parries the strikes from Kos easily there. Kos is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lehmann to escape.
Kos scores with a couple of short elbows. Lehmann wants to get back to his feet but Kos drags him back down. Lehmann is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jens Lehmann comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lehmann has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
