PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hard Time (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Caesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Time comes to the cage accompanied by Eminem - Not Afraid. Caesar has chosen down with the sickness - disturbed as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hard Time!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Julius Caesar!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caesar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Time sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Caesar somewhat.
Time tries to close the distance and clinch but Caesar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Caesar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
No luck for Caesar with that takedown attempt.
Hard Time has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julius Caesar.
Caesar shoots in but no luck this time.
Time gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Caesar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Caesar trying to control the position from guard on top but Time is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Time wants to stand but Caesar is controlling the position.
Time preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Time on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Time tries to get out of the position.

Caesar pushes down on Time's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Caesar moves nicely into side control.
Caesar working away.
Time is looking to reverse the position.
Time is not content to let Caesar control the position.

Caesar stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Caesar shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Caesar prevents Time from improving his position.
Caesar with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Time keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Caesar moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Time.
Time is breathing heavily.
Caesar is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Caesar decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Time tries a head kick but it misses.

Caesar moves into the clinch successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Caesar pulls guard.
Caesar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Time's guard.
Caesar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caesar pushing down on Time's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Caesar is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Time is defending against the submission attempts here by Caesar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julius Caesar dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Time moves away from the strike by Caesar.
Caesar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Time counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Caesar has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Time clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Time rolls, trying to escape but Caesar keeps control of the position.
Time trying to control but not successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Time prevents Caesar from getting a body triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Caesar lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Time covering up well and avoiding damage.
Time looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Will Caesar go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Time looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Time is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Caesar.
Caesar's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Caesar throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Time!
Caesar punishes Time with strikes from the back mount.
Caesar avoiding Time 's attempts to control his hands.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Time rolls, trying to escape but Caesar keeps control of the position.

Caesar has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Time is in real trouble here. Caesar gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Time is tapping out! Caesar wins by rear naked choke!
