Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cassius Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bill DeBerg! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeBerg drives through with a takedown into guard. DeBerg wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position. Brown is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst DeBerg is controlling him. DeBerg wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position. Brown is working an open guard so DeBerg takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. DeBerg shoots for a double leg takedown but Brown sprawls well. He's pushed DeBerg's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Brown misses with a hook. Brown fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
DeBerg looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeBerg throws a nice looking combination but Brown bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Brown keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from DeBerg. Brown fails in his attempt to clinch. Brown circles away from the clinch attempt and Brown counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Brown is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but DeBerg is keeping busy. The referee calls for DeBerg to work.
DeBerg is working for takedown but Brown is calmly controlling the position for now. DeBerg escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

It looks like Bill DeBerg has been cut. DeBerg pulls out of a head kick attempt.
DeBerg doesn't manage to clinch there - Brown circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DeBerg fails with the takedown and Brown counters with a left and a right that hurts DeBerg! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Brown jumps into full mount!
DeBerg is rocked! Cassius Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill DeBerg. DeBerg looks gassed! Brown tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. DeBerg is still in real trouble! Can Brown finish him? DeBerg tries to reverse the position but Brown maintains control. DeBerg seems to have recovered his senses. Brown tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. DeBerg wants to control but Brown is having none of it. Brown is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, DeBerg has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DeBerg stops Brown from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Brown with the ground and pound from mount. DeBerg tries to reverse the position but Brown maintains control. Brown content just to control the position here. Brown stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Brown tries to close the distance and clinch but DeBerg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. DeBerg circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brown lands the left hand. Brown swings widly with a right hand
and DeBerg counters with a takedown into side control. This fight is sponsored by Chainsaw 7. More blood and guts and stuff like that, in cinemas everywhere now! Brown being controlled for a moment. DeBerg trying to control the action but Brown is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Cassius Brown will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bill DeBerg's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
DeBerg with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
DeBerg clinches up with Brown and pushes him back against the cage. DeBerg tries for a takedown but Brown manages to get underhooks.

and DeBerg counters with a left and a right that stings Brown. DeBerg is breathing heavily. Brown ducks down and throws a hook to the body. DeBerg misses with a double jab
and Brown counters with a left to the body. Brown is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Brown throws a right and a left that DeBerg avoids nicely. DeBerg shoots and misses and Brown counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Brown has had enough of the clinch but DeBerg keeps him there for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown is trying to break the clinch but DeBerg has him pressed against the cage. DeBerg goes for a takedown attempt but Brown pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Brown falls off balance throwing a combination
and DeBerg counters with a slapping leg kick. Bill DeBerg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. DeBerg misses with a takedown attempt enabling Brown to counter with a crisp jab. Brown misses the shot to the body. DeBerg has his takedown stuffed and Brown counters with a straight right hand. Brown throws an off balance right hand
and DeBerg counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. DeBerg has Brown up against the cage in a clinch.
DeBerg misses with a punch to the body.
Brown is looking to break free of the clinch but DeBerg has double underhooks. Brown is pressed up against the cage. DeBerg has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Brown down to the mat. Brown avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. DeBerg misses with the combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown misses with a left hand and DeBerg counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brown won't be happy with that. DeBerg laying and praying for a moment but Brown takes advantage and regains half guard. DeBerg tries to pass to full mount but Brown defends it. DeBerg is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Brown still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Brown has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! DeBerg tries to improve position but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on DeBerg's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. DeBerg manages to get back to half guard. DeBerg is trying to get back to full guard. Brown stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows DeBerg to get to his feet. Brown misses with a hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bill DeBerg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Bill DeBerg's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Brown stuffs the takedown attempt from DeBerg. DeBerg gets slowly back to his feet. Brown throws a poor cross that misses
and DeBerg counters with a shoot takedown. Brown fights it but they end up in guard. DeBerg trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as DeBerg accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Brown keeping moving, preventing DeBerg from controlling successfully. DeBerg looking to sit in guard and control but Brown gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeBerg working a defensive guard but Brown manages to pass into side control anyway.
DeBerg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Brown moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. DeBerg wants to control but Brown postures up. DeBerg sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Brown keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Brown decides to stand up. Brown throws a right hand that DeBerg ducks under and follows up with a left that DeBerg also avoids with ease. DeBerg takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Brown circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brown cracks DeBerg with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. DeBerg is looking to clinch but Brown is avoiding it.

A swing and a miss from Brown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeBerg wants to clinch and Brown counters with a lovely straight right hand! No luck for DeBerg with that takedown attempt. DeBerg shoots and misses and Brown counters with a right hand to the body. Brown throws a left and a right that both miss
and DeBerg decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brown's guard. DeBerg is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brown is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brown has escaped and now he's on top! Brown sitting in guard here, content to control. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. DeBerg working a defensive guard but Brown manages to pass into side control anyway.
And that's the end of the fight! Bill DeBerg comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think DeBerg has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
