The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marques's waist but Marques gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing johnson off to one side.
Marques keeps the fight on the outside.
Marques has closed the distance and engaged johnson in a clinch.
Marques is struggling to control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to rick johnson.
I think johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
