8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Alan! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alan scores with a takedown into PEGADOR's guard. PEGADOR wants to stand but Alan is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. PEGADOR tries to land a sweep but no joy. PEGADOR knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alan on the ground. PEGADOR can't keep his opponent in guard - Alan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Alan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Alan is working for a kimura but PEGADOR is defending it quite comfortably.
PEGADOR is looking to control Alan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can PEGADOR avoid being mounted? PEGADOR missing with punches from the bottom.
PEGADOR is trying to maintain the position but Alan is very close to passing his half guard. Alan wants to free his trapped foot but PEGADOR is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but PEGADOR sees it coming and defends easily. PEGADOR on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if PEGADOR tries to get out of the position. Alan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. PEGADOR pushes Alan off looking to stand but Alan dives back in and keeps control.
Alan seems to be looking for submissions.
PEGADOR tries to kick Alan off but Alan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Alan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for PEGADOR! PEGADOR is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alan looking to control but PEGADOR is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Alan throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! PEGADOR has his hands clasped together but Alan breaks the hold and PEGADOR is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Alan!
