Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Douillet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeganathan Mondero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Douillet could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jeganathan Mondero's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Douillet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeganathan Mondero!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mondero misses with a body kick.
Mondero stuffs the takedown attempt from Douillet. Douillet gets slowly back to his feet.

Douillet shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mondero holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Douillet throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mondero is trying to maintain the position but Douillet is very close to passing his half guard.
Douillet is keen to just control but Mondero is a slippery customer.

Mondero tries to kick Douillet off but Douillet keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mondero tries to close the distance and clinch but Douillet swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Douillet feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Douillet postures up and lands a big shot to Mondero's brow.
Douillet wants to control from the top but Mondero keeps moving.

Douillet controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Douillet lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Douillet shoots in but no luck this time.

Mondero tries to improve position but can't.
Douillet misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mondero shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Douillet counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mondero!
Mondero wants to get back to his feet.
Mondero is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mondero looks gassed!
A nice elbow there by Douillet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

David Douillet overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Douillet pulls Mondero in close to his closed guard and prevents Mondero from doing any damage or advancing position.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Mondero shoots and misses

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Douillet, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
