Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allistair Overeen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Downstait - I Came to Play. Allistair Overeen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Allistair Overeen!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeen scores with a body shot.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Overeen but Overeen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Diaz tries for a takedown but Overeen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Overeen lands with a cross.

Diaz has closed the distance and engaged Overeen in a clinch.

Overeen decides to pull guard.
Overeen has a closed guard, preventing Diaz from standing up.

Overeen manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Overeen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Overeen wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it.

Overeen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Overeen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Overeen is looking for a triangle but Diaz pushes his legs off easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Overeen is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Overeen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Overeen passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Diaz tries to kick Overeen off but Overeen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Diaz is looking for a sweep. Overeen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Overeen tries to close the distance and clinch but Diaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Overeen connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Overeen tries to close the distance and clinch but Diaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Overeen pushes Diaz up against the cage in a clinch.

Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Diaz gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Overeen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Diaz pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Overeen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Overeen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Overeen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

I would just about give that final round to Allistair Overeen.
Well Overeen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
