PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tor Nansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew McPain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nansen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Prodigy - Thunder. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew McPain!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nansen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
McPain is trying to get back to full guard.
McPain is looking to escape.

McPain tries to roll over but Nansen keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McPain looks to throw the jab but Nansen is out of range.
Nansen avoids a punch combination nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

McPain rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nansen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

McPain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
