Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Omar Salcedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franz Kafka!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kafka throws out a powerful jab.
Kafka lands with a good body shot.
Kafka throws a low kick but it's checked well by Salcedo.
Salcedo shoots in and drives through. Kafka sprawls well.
Kafka scores with a leg kick.
Salcedo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kafka.

Salcedo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Salcedo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Salcedo trying to control but he's not successful this time.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kafka can do anything to dispel that myth.

Salcedo breaks from Kafka's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Salcedo is really struggling to control Kafka but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Poor strikes thrown by Salcedo there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Kafka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Salcedo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Salcedo cracks Kafka with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Salcedo goes for an armbar but Kafka turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kafka.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Salcedo is on top in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kafka utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kafka wants to sweep here but Salcedo controlling him for the moment.
Salcedo is looking to work some ground and pound but Kafka has wrist control.
Salcedo wants to control from the top but Kafka keeps moving.

Salcedo wants to pass the guard but Kafka is keeping the position.

Kafka pulls Salcedo in close to his closed guard and prevents Salcedo from doing any damage or advancing position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A punch lands to the side of Salcedo 's head but he takes it in his stride.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kafka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Franz Kafka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Salcedo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Kafka finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Salcedo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Omar Salcedo will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kafka throws an overhand right that lands on Salcedo's shoulder, as Salcedo tries to avoid the shot.

Kafka misses with a hook.
Kafka jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kafka swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kafka throws a right and a left that Salcedo avoids nicely.

Salcedo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kafka napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Salcedo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kafka has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kafka struggling a bit here.
Salcedo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kafka keeps working.

Salcedo is working to tighten is grip on Kafka's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kafka has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Salcedo is really squeezing tight and eventually Kafka passes out! Salcedo breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Omar Salcedo!
