Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia comes to the cage accompanied by Here comes the hotstepper. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Garcia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Rivera! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivera has Garcia up against the cage in a clinch.
Rivera has Garcia pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Garcia manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Rivera drags the fight down to the ground.
Rivera looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rivera throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Rivera trying to keep a closed guard but Garcia is proving a slippery customer.
Garcia trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rivera lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Garcia! Rivera takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia working to try and regain half guard.
Rivera controlling the position easily from mount. Rivera wants to control the pace but Garcia is squirming around nicely. Rivera thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Rivera looking to control but Garcia is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rivera sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Garcia is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rivera sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Rivera takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Garcia tries to hold on but Rivera postures up. Rivera swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Garcia is now in Rivera's guard. A big mistake from Rivera there, giving up the dominant position!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia won't allow Rivera to sweep him here. Garcia trying to control but Rivera is working from the bottom. Rivera manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Garcia manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rivera pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Garcia is keeping the position for now. Rivera trying to control the position from guard on top but Garcia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rivera looking to pass the guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rivera sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garcia throws a leg kick but Rivera sees it coming and checks it nicely. Rivera scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Rivera dives in and grabs Garcia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Garcia pushes down on Rivera's head and hops out. Jose Rivera is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Garcia swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rivera counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Rivera throwing shots but Garcia is blocking nicely. Garcia is staying active underneath Rivera, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Garcia wants to improve his position but Rivera is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rivera wants to pass to mount but Garcia is defending the position. Rivera trying to control from Garcia's half guard. Garcia has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Rivera has gone for a leg lock! Garcia slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rivera's guard. Rivera is breathing heavily. Rivera looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Garcia puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Garcia uses his free foot to push down on Rivera's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rivera. Rivera is looking to improve his position but Garcia isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rivera is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Garcia controlling his opponent. Garcia trying to control but Rivera is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rivera is trying desperately to improve position. Rivera sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Rivera is trying to get back to full guard. Rivera gets full guard. Rivera looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Garcia passes into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcia wants to control but Rivera is keeping him busy. Garcia is really struggling to control Rivera but he's trying to hold on to the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Rivera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Garcia's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Garcia tries for a takedown but Rivera circles away easily and Rivera counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Garcia's guard now. Rivera is pushing down on Garcia's leg trying to pass to half guard. Garcia is fighting to maintain full guard but Rivera has managed to sneak the leg through. Rivera wants to pass to mount but Garcia is defending the position. Rivera stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Garcia keeping full guard, as Rivera tries to pass. Rivera takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rivera postures up in Garcia's guard and throws a big left but Garcia blocks it. Rivera trying to control but Garcia is working from the bottom. Garcia working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Garcia can't keep his opponent in guard - Rivera advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Rivera wants to work for an arm triangle but Garcia is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rivera looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Rivera wants to pass to mount but Garcia is defending the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rivera is thwarting Garcia's attempts to control the position. Rivera looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Rivera thows a huge punch but Garcia dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rivera is looking to take a break and control but Garcia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Garcia is trying to get back to full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rivera throws a combination that misses and Garcia cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jason Garcia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Garcia throws a sloppy head kick and Rivera moves out of range easily. Garcia with a lazy takedown attempt and Rivera counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
And that's the end of the fight! Jose Rivera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Rivera has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
