Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mel Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Just Case (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mel Gray! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Just Case! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gray throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gray throws a hook to the side of Case's head but Case sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Gray throws out a loose jab but Case uses good head movement to avoid it. No joy there for Gray, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gray shoots in for a double leg but Case sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Case uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gray.
Case fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gray avoids it really well and circles away. Gray gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Case counters with a head kick. Gray misses with a looping left. Case throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gray was covering up waiting for the punch and Case finishes the takedown easily into guard. Case slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Gray. Gray is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gray might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Case blocks the strikes from Gray.
Case trying to control from half guard but Gray is working away. Gray is trying to get back to full guard. Gray punching from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Case shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gray is trying to defend but Case finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gray tries to get to full guard but Case has control of the leg. Case takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Gray missing with punches from the bottom.
Gray is not content to let Case control the position. Gray is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gray trying to control but Case postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Case prevents Gray from improving his position. Gray is working hard here to advance position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gray misses with a takedown and Case counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Case. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mel Gray. That's going to take a lot out of him. Case slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gray manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Case somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! A looping hook to the body misses from Gray. Case does a little dance to reset his feet. Gray swings away with a body shot that misses
and Case counters with a body kick that stops Gray in his tracks momentarily. Gray misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Case.
Gray throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Case counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gray is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gray trying to control the position from guard on top but Case is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gray postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Just Case dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Just Case. Gray stalks Case and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Case's face. Case staggers backwards, shaken.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gray defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Case. Case has managed to clinch.
Case is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Case just misses with a elbow thrown towards Gray's brow. Gray wants to get back to striking at distance but Case won't allow it.
Gray looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Case misses with a short punch on the inside. Gray is looking to break free of the clinch but Case has double underhooks. Case is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Case throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gray blocks it with crossed arms. Both fighters working to control the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Case manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Case trying to control the position but instead, Gray has worked for underhooks and has pushed Case into the cage. Case stalling the fight.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Just Case. Gray with a lazy takedown attempt and Case counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Case has Gray pushed against the cage. Gray breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gray is defended easily by Case. Case uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gray.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray misses the jab. Case with a poor takedown letting Gray counter with a right hand. Case tries to clinch there but Gray circles away.
Case closes the distance looking to clinch and Gray counters with a nice uppercut.
Case is rocked! Case wants to clinch but Gray slips to the side and Gray counters with a shoot takedown. Case fights it but they end up in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Case wants to stand but Gray is controlling the position. Case is breathing heavily. Gray drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Case manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gray has Case in his guard. Gray throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gray working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Case has passed into half guard!
Case tries to pass to full mount but Gray defends it. Gray is trying to get back to full guard. Gray looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Case pushes past his half guard into mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mel Gray dominated that second round. That's time! Gray's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Gray shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Case moves into the clinch. Gray avoiding damage as Case throws knees to the body.

Case bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gray manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Gray looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Case is keen to just control but Gray is a slippery customer. Gray tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Case wants to control but Gray is keeping him busy. Gray manages to get to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Case decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gray is defended easily by Case. A head kick misses from Case. Case misses with a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Case uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gray.

A nice right hand lands inside from Case. Case throws a head punch that misses. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gray tries to break free but Case pushes him back against the cage. Gray has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. so Case counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Gray is looking for a triangle but Case pushes his legs off easily.

Case passes Gray's left leg - he's now in half guard. Gray looking for submissions off his back. Just Case is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Case passes the guard and advances to mount! Just Case has got the better of the ground game so far. Case controlling the position easily from mount. Gray slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Gray wants to get back to full guard. Case trying to control the action but Gray is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Case is working away from the top position though. Case is pressing down on Gray's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gray is holding on for now. Case prevents Gray from improving his position. Gray tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Gray is looking to control Case's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gray avoid being mounted? Gray is trying to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gray throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Case fails with an attempt to clinch.
Case tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gray paws at him with a jab and circles away. Case is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gray's half guard. Case trying to control from half guard but Gray is working away. Gray is trying to maintain the position but Case is very close to passing his half guard. Mel Gray has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gray looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Just Case comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Case has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
