Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Thates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Pan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raphael Thates! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Pan! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thates tries to avoid it but Pan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thates to the ground. Thates escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Thates wants to clinch. Thates tries to clinch but Pan is having none of it. Thates wants to clinch. Pan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thates as he jumps to the side. Pan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Raphael Thates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Pan. Pan keeps the fight on the outside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pan showed some decent athleticism there. Thates misses with some strikes from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Thates regains full guard. Nicely done. Thates has his foot on Pan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pan works his way back into a safe position though. Thates wants to stand but Pan is controlling the position. Thates avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Thates looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Thates works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Thates working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pan. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice takedown defense from Thates. No joy for Pan on that attempt. Pan looks gassed! Thates misses with a takedown so Pan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Thates looking for a sweep. Not yet Thates, not yet.

Pan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Pan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thates. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pan throwing strikes from guard but Thates blocks nicely. Pan being controlled here momentarily. Pan stopping the sweep attempt from Thates.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Thates tries to clinch and Pan counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Thates looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Thates is looking for a triangle but Pan pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Thates is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Pan throws a strike but Thates rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Thates missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Thates controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Thates slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thates controlling from side mount. Thates is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Thates throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Thates slows the pace down. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Peter Pan will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Thates tries for a takedown but Pan circles away easily and Pan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pan winds up and cracks Thates with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Thates keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thates's head. Thates keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Thates slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Thates pulls Pan in close to prevent any damage. Pan throws and elbow that misses. Thates uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pan's guard. Nice move by Thates! Pan can't keep his opponent in guard - Thates advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pan is breathing heavily. Thates performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thates looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Thates takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Pan taking some punishment here, with Thates in his half guard. Thates frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Thates landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Thates tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Thates looking to control but Pan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Pan wants to control but Thates is having none of it. Thates controlling from mount. Thates is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Pan is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Pan flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Thates anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Pan and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Thates slips an arm under Pan chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Thates has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Thates is squeezing on Pan like an anaconda would it's prey. Pan fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
