Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Engelbert Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Favisa Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Thriller. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Meyer connects with a high kick. Meyer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center. Meyer dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meyer circles away quickly and effectively. Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Meyer pinned against the cage. Meyer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Meyer!
Jones throws a combination that misses and Meyer counters with a lovely shot to the body. The fight stays on the outside here - Meyer looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones closes the distance but Meyer moves to the side and Meyer counters with a nice body kick. Jones is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Meyer lands a shot to the body. Meyer is working for takedown but Jones is calmly controlling the position for now. Engelbert Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Favisa Meyer. Meyer is trying to force a seperation but Jones has the dominant position. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jones. Jones has Meyer pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jones pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Meyer tumbling to the mat - Jones dives into Meyer's guard. Meyer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Meyer lands a big shot there that rocks Jones but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jones throwing hammer fists to the chest of Meyer. What's that going to do exactly? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meyer controlling the pace for now. Meyer has hold of Jones's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jones manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Meyer wants to get back to his feet but Jones is holding on tight.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jones is desperately trying to improve his position but Meyer has a good base and remains in mount. Jones is working hard here to advance position. Jones manages to reverse the position and now he's in Meyer's guard. Nice work there by Jones.

Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Meyer trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Favisa Meyer dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Meyer swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones. Meyer gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Jones scoring with punches to the head and body. Meyer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Meyer's head. Jones stands up over Meyer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Jones working some strikes from top position. Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jones lands a couple of elbows. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones throwing strikes from guard but Meyer blocks nicely. Meyer looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is in close to Meyer's body, working some short punches and elbows. Jones wants to pass the guard but Meyer is keeping the position. Jones postures up and lands a big shot to Meyer's brow. Jones makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Meyer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt. Jones misses with a combination

He's persisting with it as Meyer sprawls well. Meyer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Favisa Meyer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Meyer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Meyer wants it to stay on the feet. Meyer lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Meyer lands a nice looking body kick. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Meyer shows good takedown defense. Meyer passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Jones is staying active underneath Meyer, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Meyer blocks the strikes from Jones.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Jones slips a nice elbow through Meyer's hands, connecting with Meyer's forehead.
